At Gowanus Fitness, we believe that strength training should be accessible, structured, and results-driven. And free from the intimidation often found in traditional gyms. Our group classes emphasize progressive strength training, functional movement, and expert coaching, all within a supportive, community-oriented environment.

Designed for all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned lifters, our classes include modifications tailored to your individual needs. We prioritize safe and controlled strength training to help you build muscle, change your physique, and boost your confidence.

Get our intro offer – 5 days for $5. That’s the best way to get a feel for our workouts, coaches, facility, and community. There is no commitment to continue after your intro if you decide that Gowanus is not a good fit for you and your goals. But I bet we are!

Beginner Friendly Strength Training

Are you new to lifting weights? That's absolutely fine! Our group fitness classes are designed specifically for beginners. We provide a friendly and approachable environment where you can start at your comfort level and progress at your own pace. With supportive coaching, you'll feel confident as you build your strength and skills every step of the way!

  • No contracts – Plans are month to month. Cancellation requires 10 days notice.
  • Switch plans – You may switch plans any month and as often as you’d like based on your schedule.
  • Additional Class Policy – If you complete your plan in any given month, you may purchase 1 or 2 additional classes for $15 per class.
  • Class Rollover Policy – Rollover up to 5 unused classes in a calendar year for no additional cost. Rollover classes are available to use the following month.
  • Open Gym – Access to Open Gym at no additional cost (except for the 4 class plan). Open Gym hours are M-F 6am-12pm and 4-6pm.
